NE neighborhood community member Sarah Lovern advocates dog leashing through the following poster as a response to citation she received at Boom Island State Park after off leashing her dog last November. City of Minneapolis police have started to enforce dog leashing in the area. The poster reminds us not to get too ex-“cited” as the weather gets nicer and furry friends eagerly want to go out to play. So, what’s fine print? The City of Minneapolis requires that dogs be leashed and under your control at all times; licenses are required for dogs, cats, ferrets, and rabbits as well as rabies vaccinations; and pet waste must be picked up in your yard and on walks.
