The Historic Riverfront 5K Run/Walk

Since 2005 the Fundraising Committee has planned, organized, and hosted this big yearly Fall event. The Annual Historic Riverfront 5K Run/Walk is our most significant accomplishment to date. For over 15 years the STAWNO Fundraising Committee has organized and held this big community event. Runners and walkers come from all over to participate in the timed 5K. There are prizes and achivements won every year.

For the first time since 2005, when it all began, we are teaming up with the Sheridan Neighborhood Organization to share and grow this much-loved, active Fundraising event. We can’t wait to see how big the Riverfront 5K can become with partners in Northeast Minneapolis!

It is our goal to raise funds for neighborhood initiatives and programs run by STAWNO & SNO that bring neighbors into contact, support civic engagement and create opportunities for making our neighborhoods better places to live.

  • Pre-registration opens yearly at the beginning of August on our ActiveWorks.com page.

    After pre-registration closes on active.com registration opens again on Friday at Mill City Running, 4-6 pm, and at Boom Island the morning of the race, 7:30-8:45 am.

    Early Packet Pick Up begins Friday, October 6 from 4-6 pm at Mill City Running (411 E. Hennepin Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55414). Enjoy a 20% discount on regular-priced merchandise when you pick it up in-store.

    Early Registration is available for $35 at Early Packet Pick Up.

    Regular Packet Pick Up begins Race Day Saturday at 7:30 am and ends at 8:45 am at Boom Island Park (700 Sibley St NE)

    RACE STARTS at 9:00 am

    Race Day Registration is available from 7:30 am to 8:45 am at Boom Island

    Q: Can my friend still register?

    A: Of course! Registration is available at Mill City Running during packet pickup today from 4 - 6pm at the pre-registration price of $35 and on Saturday from 7:30 - 8:45 am at Boom Island race check-in, $40.
